Follow the Falls Project, Essex, Ct

I just finished working with the Essex Historical Society on this really exciting project documenting the history and ecology of the mouth of the Falls River as it enters the Falls River Cove in Essex, Ct.  Much of the material came from an archaeological project I was part of through Wesleyan University's Graduate Liberal Studies Program back in 1989-91.

It was fun to revisit the dig, dust off my memory, and add new research for the Follow the Falls project. The link below will bring you to an E-magazine that was put together and recently published through the efforts of OverAbove in Essex. It can also be accessed by going to the Essex Historical Society web page (www.essexhistory.org)

The Essex Historical Society and the Essex Land Trust are a great team and I look forward to working with them in the future. A great start for my new venture, Seeking the Past Historical Consulting (www.SeekingthePast.com).

In 2019 and 2020, the Follow the Falls team focused on the central village of Centerbrook and it's rich industrial and commercial history linked to the Falls River.  Besides a print booklet, once again OverAbove produced an E-magazine.  Both are available by contacting the Essex Historical Society (www.essexhistory.org) or click on the links below.
