The Siege and Battles of Saybrook Fort During the Pequot War (1636-1637)
One of my current completed projects has been working with the Old Saybrook Historical Society in Old Saybrook, CT to develop an Education Curriculum for Elementary and Secondary students on the Pequot War and the Siege and Battles that took place on Saybrook Point and surrounding areas during the Pequot War (1636-1637).
I have also writen a history of the Siege and Battles within the context of the Pequot War that has been recently published by the Old Saybrook Historical Society. The title is On the Edge of Uncertainty; The Siege and Battles of Saybrook Fort during the Pequot War, 1636-1637.
It is available by contacting the Society at https://saybrookhistory.org.
The project is part of a grant by the U. S. National Park Service 's American Battlefield Protection Program and is based upon researh conducted by archaeologists and historians from the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center in their study of Saybrook Point and the site of the English fort built in 1636 and besieged by the Pequot for seven months beginning in September, 1636 and ending in March, 1637. To learn more about the project you can visit the Old Saybrook Historical Society web page at https://saybrookhistory.org.
